We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with local specialty practices when special diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are required. The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house digital x-ray capabilities, a closely supervised hospitalization area, and indoor boarding kennels with outdoor walking areas.

Our job is not only to treat your pet when he or she isn't feeling well, but also to help you learn how to keep your best friend happy and healthy.
Dr. Suzanne Scott
Dr. Scott graduated from Centenary College of Louisiana as their first pre-veterinary student with a BS in Biology with honors. She returned to New Orleans to work as a research assistant at Tulane University and volunteer at the Audubon Zoo's wild bird rehabilitation center. During veterinary school she completed a preceptorship at the National Zoological Park in Washington, D.C. where she enjoyed working with clouded leopards and golden lion tamarins at the species survival center in Fort Royal, Virginia. In 1991, she graduated from the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine as the 1000th graduate. Dr. Scott practiced in New Orleans until Hurricane Katrina forced her evacuation to Texas in a pickup with two kids, four dogs and a macaw.
Dr. Scott opened Paws to Claws Veterinary Care in 2010. She enjoys providing quality care for companion animals and exotic pets. Dr. Scott is married to her college sweetheart. When she is not working, she enjoys flying a small plane and scuba diving.
She is a member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians and the Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians.
Dr. Kristen Slater
Dr. Slater grew up in Northern Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University with her D.V.M. in 2002. She has lived in Magnolia since 2009 with her 5 dogs, 4 cats and a rabbit. Dr. Slater enjoys small animal medicine and soft tissue surgery; she is excited to work with a wide variety of mammalian species. In her spare time she trains and shows her 2 horses, Pistol Annie and Hope, in Western and English disciplines, she also has a passion for gardening.
Dr. Tanya Tamborello
Dr. Tanya Tamborello grew up in Magnolia and married her high school sweetheart, Dr. Mark Tamborello D.D.S. Both graduated from Magnolia High School and Texas A&M University. Dr. Tanya is a 1995 graduate of Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. After receiving their veterinary and dental degrees, the Tamborellos moved back to their home town of Magnolia to serve their community. Dr. Tanya enjoys practicing medicine and sharing her love of animals with others. She has a special interest in avian and exotic medicine and is very excited to be back at Paws to Claws!
Dr. Tamborello has 3 children and a menagerie of 17 animals. She enjoys traveling and being active outdoors with her family. Kayaking, horseback riding, mountain biking, and gardening are among her favorite activities.
Marie - CVPM
After emigrating from England in 1991 our Practice Manager, Marie, worked several part time jobs until she was offered a position as a greeter with a veterinary clinic in Houston. In 1998, she moved to Magnolia and started working for McGovern Animal Clinic; Marie stayed with the practice when it transitioned to Paws to Claws Veterinary Care in October of 2010. You may not see her every day, but she is here keeping the wheels turning in the background. Marie is also a member of the Veterinary Hospital Manager's Association and obtained her CVPM (Certified Veterinary Practice Manager) certification in 2017. She and her husband, Gavin, have 5 children and at last count, 15 grandchildren, 8 of which live in England. She now lives in Hockley with Gavin, their dog, Ziva, and their cat Felix. When they have spare time they enjoy traveling, watching baseball, football, the Tour De France, and hanging with family.
Tiffany - LVT
Tiffany, a Licensed Veterinary technician, graduated Lone Star College in 2007 with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology. She started at working at McGovern Animal Clinic in 2005 and stayed with the practice when it transitioned to Paws to Claws Veterinary Care in 2010. She has been working in the veterinary field for 13 years and has an interest in anesthesia, surgery and exotic medicine. She lives in Montgomery with her husband Josh and her 3 dogs, 4 cats (one of which is 3 legged), a 3 legged chinchilla, a sulcata tortoise and a few fish. During her free time she loves cooking, baking, crafts, gardening, and helping her husband work on cars.
Courtney - LVT
Courtney grew up in Ohio and moved to Texas with her high school sweetheart in 2009. She graduated from the Vet Tech Institute of Houston as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in 2016 and immediately started working at Blue Peal Veterinary Specialists and Emergency Clinic. Courtney’s experience with emergency medicine, her passion for exotic animals and interest in rehabilitation made her a perfect fit when she joined our Paws to Claws family in June of 2017. She lives in Tomball with her husband Jeremy and their menagerie of animals which include 5 dogs, 2 cats, and an assortment of snakes, reptiles, a chinchilla, and an aquarium of fish. During her free time she likes to scrapbook, mountain bike, and travel back to Ohio to spend time with her family.
Terri started working with us in September of 2014 as one of our Customer Care Coordinators. Terri is a native Texan and resides in Magnolia with her husband, son, and 3 cats, Jelly Bean, CC Blaze, and Smokey. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking a big breakfast on weekends, reading a great book, watching Netflix and enjoying a glass of wine. One day Terri and her husband hope to travel around the state in their refurbished 1976 GMC motor home.
